The colours of Autumn

Soft autumn sun, red carpet of dry leaves, the air full of smells. Rainy grey days after sunny days of Indian summer. Gardens & forests full of yummy fresh goodness. Berries, mushrooms, fruit & vegetable of all kinds. Busy times for farmers. Beginning of new school year. Time to think about Xmas & New Year plans.

Autumn weather is the most pleasant time, after extreme hot weaves, and just before freezing cold winter. Mother nature is getting ready for the winter sleep. People are getting ready for a greeting season… I’ve put together some of the colours of autumn, their meaning & some images for you :)

Red

The colour red is the colour of energy, passion & action. Red colour is a warm & positive colour associated with our most physical needs & our will to survive. It exudes a strong & powerful masculine energy. Red is energizing. It excites the emotions & motivates us to take action.

The colour of security, protection & material wealth. Brown is a serious, down-to-earth colour signifying stability, structure & support. In the meaning of colours, brown is the colour of material security & the accumulation of material possessions.

The colour of adventure & social communication. Orange radiates warmth & happiness, combining the physical energy & stimulation of red with the cheerfulness of yellow. This colour relates to ‘gut reaction’ or our gut instincts, as opposed to the physical reaction of red or the mental reaction of yellow. Orange offers emotional strength in difficult times. It helps us to bounce back from disappointments & despair, assisting in recovery from grief.

Yellow is the best colour to create enthusiasm for life & can awaken greater confidence & optimism. The colour yellow loves a challenge, particularly a mental challenge.
